Some of you don’t know me, or hadn’t until the last few weeks. But many of you I’ve known for 10, even 15 years. I’m genuinely passionate about the lettings market and about software and have built up a great deal of experience and knowledge in this industry.

When I left college, I was all set to become an estate agent. But as it often happens, life had other ideas. A friend’s dad, who owned Rentman at the time, offered me a job at his software company. I took it, thinking it might just be a short-term thing. That was over 20 years ago.

What started as a bit of a detour quickly turned into something much bigger. I ended up falling into an industry I’ve grown to love. Since then, I’ve done just about every job in the business, selling the software, training clients, helping with onboarding, and running support. For the past 10 years, I’ve been proud to lead Rentman Software Ltd as Managing Director.

During that time, I’ve seen just how quickly the lettings world has changed, and continues to change. Falling behind poses a real risk, and I’ve always been mindful of that, staying committed to making sure our clients stay ahead.

I’ve built real relationships with so many of our clients over the years, and I’ve seen firsthand how vital the right tools are to running a successful agency. There came a point, though when I realised the system we had in place was only helping agents get by, it wasn’t helping them get ahead.

Then, after an unexpected turn of events, we had to move quickly. It pushed us to act on plans we’d been working on for a long time - and to finally launch the kind of platform we felt our clients truly deserved.

So, we put everything into building something better. A system that’s secure, cloud-based, modern, and ready for what’s next. We truly believe we’ve laid the groundwork for something that can truly support agents for the long haul.

I want to be doing this for the next 20 years. And I want the tools we build to stand the test of time.
